Your Solution for Professional Piercing
My name is Maggie, a professional body piercer in North San Diego County. I am experienced in numerous body piercings; however, specialize in piercing infant and children's ears with a one-time-use sterile needle.
I opened 'Piercing by Maggie' because I wanted to provide San Diego with a resource for professional piercing in a comfortable, safe environment.
With a background in phlebotomy, I am knowledgeable on anatomy and diligent with sterilization. I use only top-quality, titanium, implant-grade jewelry and piercing tools from NeoMetal, a supplier approved by the Association of Professional Piercers.

I do not believe in using piercing guns for numerous reasons:
-
The material of the gun is unable to undergo high temperatures required for sterilization
-
They push the earring through the ear causing more trauma to the surrounding area
-
They have been shown to be less accurate in spot placement.
I pierce with a single-use, sterilized, hollow needle and the jewelry follows through from behind
Know Before You Go
-
The healing process is different for each piercing; however, you should not go swimming or submerge in water for 6-8 weeks after new piercing.
-
You will also be recommended to purchase a saline Spray for the healing process, which is sold separately in my studio.
-
I am appointment only and require a small deposit at time of booking.
-
HSV- if you have HSV, you may be required to receive an anti-viral from your doctor before new piercing.
-
I use ASTM F-136 implant certified titanium by the manufacturer Neo Metal for all of my jewelry. These are the ideal design and material for fragile new piercings. I pre-sterilize and package them to provide to you at your appointment.
-
I do not use numbing cream because some bodies may react negatively to creams. If you would like to use numbing cream for the piercing, spot test it beforehand to avoid any swelling, deformities, or negative reaction on piercing day.
-
For infant or young child piercings: if you choose to pierce your child's ears before they are willing/able to sit and listen to instructions, we will need to hold their head still for the procedure. Since I use clamps and a needle, I will need 10-15 seconds of stillness to carry through the procedure accurately. Jerking, pulling away, or grabbing tools may put the child and I at risk of needle pokes or complications. It will be your responsibility to hold her head still and hands down for the piercing.
