Your Solution for Professional Piercing

Safety and Sterilization Standards
Safety precautions include using single use sterile needles that have been sterilized by the manufacturer as well as an additional sterilization in house through chemical soaking and high heat sterilization. Needles, tapers (a tool used in the piercing process), earrings, and clamps, are single-use and not passed between clients.

Using Earrings You Already Own
A FAQ is if I can insert the earrings that a client brings into the appointment. The answer can vary based on the material and design of the earring. If you wish to use earrings of your choice, please reach out to me to discuss which type of earrings you have. You will be required to drop them off before your appointment so I can pre-sterilize them and prepare them to be inserted into a fresh piercing.

My goal is always to support safe healing and the best possible outcome, especially for babies and children. For safety and healing purposes, not all client jewelry can be used.

Why Titanium or Gold Flat Backs
The design and material of the earring is also important for the initial piercing. Implant-certified titanium and14K gold are both accepted materials for new piercings in the piercing industry and recommended by the Association of Professional Piercers Jewelry for Initial Piercings – Association of Professional Piercers.  I offer ASTM F-136 Certified Titanium flat back earrings and certified14 K gold flat back earrings. The usual recommended material in my studio is the ASTM F 136 certified titanium because of its very low risk for negative metal reaction (the same material used in the medical field for implants) and its affordability.

In addition, the flat-back jewelry design I use is ideal for new piercings, especially for babies and children. Flat backs sit smoothly against the skin, reducing pressure and irritation during healing. This design is often more comfortable than butterfly backs or decorative styles, which can press into the skin, trap debris, or cause irritation in multiple areas.

Why I Do Not Use Piercing Guns

  • Piercing guns cannot be fully sterilized using medical-grade heat methods

  • They force jewelry through the ear, which can cause unnecessary trauma to the surrounding tissue.

  • They are often less precise, increasing the chance of uneven placement,

Instead, I pierce using a single-use sterile, hallow needle. This method allows for greater accuracy and gentler tissue separation, and the jewelry is smoothly guided into place for a more controlled and comfortable experience.

Know Before You Go

  • The healing process is different for each piercing; however, you should not go swimming or submerge in water for 6-8 weeks after new piercing.

  • You will also be recommended to purchase a saline Spray for the healing process, which is sold separately in my studio.

  • HSV- if you have HSV, you may be required to receive an anti-viral from your doctor before new piercing.

  • Jewelry is pre-sterilized and packaged to provide to you at your appointment.

  • I do not use numbing cream because some bodies may react negatively to creams. If you would like to use numbing cream for the piercing, spot test it beforehand to avoid any swelling, deformities, or negative reaction on piercing day.

  • For infant or young child piercings: if you choose to pierce your child's ears before they are willing/able to sit and listen to instructions, we will need to hold their head still for the procedure. Since I use clamps and a needle, I will need 10-15 seconds of stillness to carry through the procedure accurately. Jerking, pulling away, or grabbing tools may put the child and I at risk of needle pokes or complications. It will be your responsibility to hold her head still and hands down for the piercing.
